Ploughmans, Pint & Poetry Evening
Friday 24th February 2012
7.00 for 7.30pm

This month we are planning a fun, light hearted entertaining evening of serious and funny poems by a 'proper' Dorset Gent in 'proper Dorset' - Roy Willment of Stalbridge. He writes his own dittys and verse, his book will be available for purchase. You are invited to bring a poem of your own if you would like too or just chillax and listen, no obligation to participate.

I will be serving a 'proper' ploughmans for everyone with selections of cheeses, Wiltshire Ham, 'Leakers' bakery cottage rolls and our own pickles and chutneys, plus lots of accompaniments. Afterwards there will be some good old British classics- apple pie and spotted dick!! (oh yes there will be thick Blackmore Vale double cream or / and custard too!!)

Tickets £10.00 each payable in advance. (This is on a strictly first come, first serve basis on payment as we are developing a cult following and hate letting our customers down) We can take payment by card over the phone or just pop in and see us.

Ode to our evening!!

On the 24th February, at the Thyme after time Cafe
We got a proper Dorset man who's got a lot to say
He writes a lot of dittys, they sometimes even rhyme
So come on down and bring a pint
on Friday at Thyme after time

Our woodburner is glowing, the atmos' will be great
so grab a Dorset ploughmans
It will fill up all your plate
For afters there is pudding
included in the price
You know if its from Margot's
It certainly will be nice.

The cost is a tenner
Quite cheap you will agree
But bring a pocket full of change
'cause our coffee can't be free!

Welcome to Thyme After Time,
Event Catering, Foodstore & Café
in the heart of rural Dorset

We are a Dorset based food store/café and bespoke outside catering company that prides itself on providing freshly cooked food with ingredients sourced in Dorset where possible. The company is run by Margot Annelle Finlay who is a qualified caterer (see below), having worked at upmarket restaurants and outside catering firms before launching Thyme after Time. It all started when Margot had her first child Luke and wanted a way she could 'bring food to the table' while watching him grow up; therefore providing home made pickles, jellies and chutneys to farm shops, delicatessens and the like helped her to do that. The business has grown from strength to strength and she has now taken on a premises at Hazelbury Bryan where you can visit the café and sample the fares, while perusing the locally sourced arts and crafts!

Margot’s qualifications include:

City & Guilds 706/1
City & Guilds 706/2
City & Guilds 711 in Patisserie
City & Guilds 707/6 in Food & Beverage Service
BTEC - First Diploma in Hotel & Catering Studies
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

Margot also employs her mother Pauline to help in the café as she prides herself on keeping it a family business. Her sister and friends also help out when called upon!

More news from Margot...

Our fund raising Christmas celebration evening with Hazelbury Bryan Church Choir and Father Christmas was a fantastic success, we really tested our little Cafe to its capacity limitations!!! We raised a fantastic £85.00 for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance from the proceeds of Father Christmas, so an enormous Thankyou to Kevin Knapp for giving up his time and to Hazelbury Bryan Church Choir for all the hours of practice they put in to singing all their Christmas Carols so beautifully all evening.

If you are arranging a private party, why not get in touch with us about hosting your party at our Cafe, minimum of 18 people and you will have exclusive use of the Cafe, we will cater for all your food requirements and you can even bring your own alcoholic beverages. (Soft drinks strictly purchased at the Cafe). If you can't muster 18 people, why not reserve some seats at one of our monthly evening ticket only functions?

Let us worry about the catering on your big day

One of the regular client feedback comments that Margot receives regarding her outside catering is the instilled confidence and trust she gives them when preparing for their big day, whether that is a wedding, private party or corporate event! When asked, Margot puts this down to years of knowledge & passion in her chosen field!
Margot offers a bespoke menu design service and if you would like to book a meeting with her, she will create your menu according to your needs, taste and budget - all over a cup of delicious coffee in her café! She will then offer you a full quotation based on the information you provide as a no obligation service. She can also provide beverages and hire of crockery, glassware and cutlery if required or point you in the right direction to businesses she feels she can trust.
