All American Night

We are very excited about our American evening, we will be flinging open the Cafe doors for British summertime and getting that Barby lit (weather permitting), there will be seating in and out, choice is yours! We have my American friend Julie Lloyd advising us on menus and will be cooking with us on the night. It will not be all about burgers and hot dogs (although they may make an appearance in mini form!), there will be lots of tantalising dishes for you to try, plus delicious salads and then its play time.......yahoo the puddings!!!

Ticket price is £18 including VAT, you are welcome as ever to bring your own booze (we supply the glassware) and we do ask that soft drinks are strictly bought on the premises. Tickets as this goes live are selling fast, a third full as we speak, so if you would like to come.....get yourselves on the phone or email and book your places. You can call in with cash or cards or ring through your card details, whichever suits you.

Welcome to Thyme After Time,
Event Catering, Foodstore & Café
in the heart of rural Dorset

We are a Dorset based food store/café and bespoke outside catering company that prides itself on providing freshly cooked food with ingredients sourced in Dorset where possible. The company is run by Margot Annelle Finlay who is a qualified caterer (see below), having worked at upmarket restaurants and outside catering firms before launching Thyme after Time. It all started when Margot had her first child Luke and wanted a way she could 'bring food to the table' while watching him grow up; therefore providing home made pickles, jellies and chutneys to farm shops, delicatessens and the like helped her to do that. The business has grown from strength to strength and she has now taken on a premises at Hazelbury Bryan where you can visit the café and sample the fares, while perusing the locally sourced arts and crafts!

City & Guilds 711 in Patisserie
City & Guilds 707/6 in Food & Beverage Service
BTEC - First Diploma in Hotel & Catering Studies
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

Margot also employs her mother Pauline to help in the café as she prides herself on keeping it a family business. Her sister and friends also help out when called upon!

We are very pleased to announce that Ellie Coughlan is now taking an apprenticeship with us at 'Thyme after time', she is now attending Weymouth College once a week and the rest of the week she can be found beavering away making cakes, preparing breakfasts and lunches and helping us prepare for functions. Ellie is proudly wearing her Chefs whites now at the Cafe and looks really smart. We are positive she is going to be such an asset to the business.



Don't forget to look out for our new little white van with all its logos on cruising around the area making deliveries and attending functions, this is going to make our packing for catering functions so much easier this year! Many thanks to '4D signs' for doing such a grand job of interpretting my designs and applying them to the van, we are all in agreement here at the Cafe that it looks awesome! There was much excitement here when I took off to fetch the van after having the logos put on!

Margot offers a bespoke menu design service and if you would like to book a meeting with her, she will create your menu according to your needs, taste and budget - all over a cup of delicious coffee in her café! She will then offer you a full quotation based on the information you provide as a no obligation service. She can also provide beverages and hire of crockery, glassware and cutlery if required or point you in the right direction to businesses she feels she can trust.
